Arc. Arts for Recovery in the Community

“It is a multi-facetted project that operates at many levels. It balances vulnerable individuals' needs for support, creativity and social opportunity, the desire for sanctuary and safety from a hard external environment with the need of the project as a whole to continue to develop creatively and not become a stagnant institution. Members feel pride and a sense of ownership in the project and communicate this to mental health specialists in Stockport. A significant number move on to college or become volunteers outside the project. A small number move directly into work .”

Referrals

The following information will be of interest if you are considering making a referral on behalf of a client, friend or family member.

New participants are invited to join Arc's Pathways Stream, which lasts for one year, and includes an introduction to a range of creative projects.

New participants are given as much support as they need and we are happy to discuss anything that will help the person concerned join successfully.

If a new participant is particularly nervous about joining we can arrange for someone to attend alongside them until they are settled in.

To discuss a referral or request a referral pack please call our team on 0161 474 1462. If the answer phone is in operation please leave clear details of how to contact you and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

The referral pack includes an application form for you to complete and return to us.

Once we have received the application form we will discuss it with you and arrange a friendly visit, which will include a guided tour and a supportive chat over a cup of tea.

Feedback

We welcome feedback on the referrals process and if you have any suggestions how we might improve it then please let us know here.
