Arc. Arts for Recovery in the Community

“The partnership between ARC and Acute services staff, especially the Occupational Therapy Service, has been vital to the delivery of meaningful, not just diversionary sessions… There is an emerging sense that if cultural and organisational changes are incorporated into the planning of the art provision they may be used to complement, support or facilitate positive changes, adding to the momentum of improvement to services.”

Christine Buckley, Senior O.T.

Community Outreach

Arc undertakes a wide range of community outreach projects every year, often in partnership with other agencies including Pennine Care NHS Trust, Continuing Education and Youth Services. Arc reaches far more people in the community than ever come through the doors of our centre in South Reddish. Arc also acts as consultants to enable funding to be found for partnership work. If you belong to a community group and feel that working with Arc might be of benefit, why not contact us to discuss how we might be able to work together?

Arc in Brinnington

Arc now has a base in Brinnington, upstairs in First House. From this we are developing a range of projects across the area – including working with the Children's Centre, and primary schools, creating a community-led newsletter and working to address issues such as domestic violence and unemployment in partnership with other agencies.

Free arts sessions are being offered on Friday mornings. They are open to all adults, no experience necessary! So if you fancy having a go at something fun and creative then come along. Materials are provided – but please wear old clothes or bring an apron as Arc cannot be held responsible for any damage to clothing or jewellery whilst taking part.

All the sessions will be led by artists from Arc and take place 10 – 12 in our ArcSpace upstairs at First House – just follow the signs!
